Unfortunately the problem with Med...No, it was not. Unfortunately the problem with MediaWiki is not having much granular control over what you can show and what you can't, without getting into the CSS and PHP code of configuration files. I just have not had the time to figure this out. These files are also distributed and not centralized.

Basically, I just used a configuration option to hide the whole toolbar and special pages unless you are logged in. I wish there were a GUI for controlling all menu options and user privileges (add/read/write/look at special pages, etc.)

It would make the administration of MediaWiki a lot easier and more scalable to a bigger number of wikis.

(deleted the earlier comment as it had two spelling mistakes!)Frank Fulchierohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12026652638417088085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28836791.post-12285650711143809252007-04-29T11:01:00.000-04:002007-04-29T11:01:00.000-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.Frank Fulchierohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12026652638417088085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28836791.post-64967751361356432682007-04-29T05:59:00.000-04:002007-04-29T05:59:00.000-04:00I wasn't able to find a history button on the wiki...I wasn't able to find a history button on the wiki - is that on purpose?Jean-Claude Bradleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09157209601339686455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28836791.post-24982764653386344882007-03-07T20:12:00.000-05:002007-03-07T20:12:00.000-05:00Thanks. I know I have to get less wordy. I discove...Thanks. I know I have to get less wordy. I discovered, for me, one of the best reasons for blogging is that it helps me improve my writing style. I know mine needs improvement! So, that is a good reason to blog, if someone is looking for one.

I'll write about our second class wiki soon, I think we incorporated a lot of lessons learned from the first one. I wish I had more time to write, and read other people's blogs. There are so many good ones out there.Frank Fulchierohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12026652638417088085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28836791.post-61326633877996002892007-03-07T08:27:00.000-05:002007-03-07T08:27:00.000-05:00It's great to read about your experience with blog...It's great to read about your experience with blogs, Frank.
